Razer

3d graffiti brisbane art gallery

Another work that uses the same style of lettering as 'Symptoms and 'Photek with this work I have focused on getting the overall shape of the lettering right as it followed on from Photek (really happy with the way Photek turned out) I wanted to keep the same style going in this work - broken lettering/angular flow.

It took a while to get it looking right as this design seems to work better as a 2d design for some reason (perhaps the arrangement of letters).  But now that it is finished I am happy with it as a style.

I decided that I should start to get into texturing my work as I haven't really done much in the past.  With 'Razer I was really just interested in breaking up the material so I added the stone texture as a bump map just as a test but ended up using it in the final render.  The texture itself is actually a composite of 4 different types of rock and a few different wash and stain passes to give it an eroded look

The location for this one is an abandoned car park at West End.  As soon as I saw the space I new it would work.  It's kind of old and dusty and hot.  Which was perfect as I wanted this graffiti design to look like it had been there awhile.
