Graffiti Technica - Peace

This work is getting closer to the level of design and 3d that I want to give my graffiti designs. It was inspired by mecha style design and hardcore military machinery. My original idea for starting Graffiti Technica was to build graffiti designs based on hardware and industrial design that was already out there. This means using old machinery and old technology as the focus for my work and building new 3d graffiti designs from their physical appearance.

There are so much design that goes into making objects visually pleasing - especially old technology when modernism was cool and the design of an object was a strong selling point (well when isn't this the case).  In this graffiti design the level of sophistication that goes into military machines was the inspiration - I like the concept of layers and layers of integrated technology that serves only one purpose. The technology get refined and refined until it is perfect.

 

 

My focus for future designs will head in this same direction - building the actual work in 3d then compositing it into a real situation and also adding effects and glows in Photoshop.  Ultimately I want my 3d designs to actually be videos where the graffiti actually moves and interacts with objects but this is a long way off and I would rather perfect a style.

The more I do this type of work the more I realize that there is no real application for graffiti, it is art for art sake and there isn't really a market for it other than people that like design and typography.
