3d Graffiti - Evga wallpaper

This wallpaper is based on Evga. Pretty interesting one to design with as they have a faily futuristic style in their logo design. The colors came from their corporate branding which was heavily black and white with hints of blue.

As the word is fairly short "Evga" I wanted to play with the flow of the work as the lettering didn't really have much complexity. Was thinking about using the way the logo is constructed for the basis of the graffiti design - EG. taking the back off the 'E and the 'G and putting the circle in the 'A. However when I did this it didn't really flow properly.

One of the things that I am finding with working in wallpaper resolutions is that you have to have the design work at the bigger resolutions and at the same time have it fit in the smaller 4:3 res's. Can be tricky when shrinking down as you loose the sides. My renders for this design are usually 2560x1600 and then converted down using Photoshop actions to all the different screen resolutions. Starting to think that I should render these even higher as people are now asking for triple screen resolutions.

Close up of 'E and texture

Again the texture was inspired from some of their branding. Everyone seems to have some form of brushed metal look to their work these days. I didn't really want to leave the texture as raw as metal so overlaid a glass layer over the top - it sort of looks like an inner bevel but at the same time as it has a different reflection value in pics up different light sources.

As Evga also use some blue tints in their design I thought I would offset the cold steel with the blue. Without the blue the design looks very flat - adds a dimension to the work as if there is a depth behind it.
